Conjugated polymers

Conjugated polymers have a framework of alternating single and double carbon-carbon (sometimes carbon-nitrogen) bonds.
Conjugated polymers consist of alternating single and double bonds along the polymer chain (sp2-hybridised carbons). The p-electrons form a common p-electron system along the whole polymer chain. This p-electron system gives the polymers semiconducting properties.
